why we built the neighborhood featured image

Why We Built the Neighborhood

For over 15 years, we have seen the impact of what a social learning program can do for our community. But we recognize many people do not have access to an in-person support program. So we are bringing the teaching, stimulation, and FUN online for everyone! Now anyone can get the same feeling of purpose + participation virtually with daily activities, special events, and the support of their new “neighbors.”

Who is the The Next Stop Neighborhood For?

We serve people with special needs who would like to engage with others and participate in our daily activities. A sample of our activities in a given week may look like:

  • Interactive cooking class to celebrate something like Coconut Cream Pie Day
  • A Block Party with all of our neighbors singing and dancing
  • Word puzzles + coloring pages about topical events
  • Fun crafts like building a Yo-Yo
  • Short learning lessons on history, science, and more!
  • Prompts to take a walk + easy ways to get moving

If these activities would interest and benefit you or someone in your life, then The Next Stop Neighborhood would love to have you join the fun!
